About the event
Interested in sourdough but unsure where to start? Have you previously baked sourdough bread but encountered issues with your starter? Perhaps you're feeling overwhelmed by the myriad of sourdough options and ideas available and are seeking a more hands-on approach? Join host Lauren O'Bannan at Fermenting with Friends, a free sourdough class!
During this session, you'll gain insight into maintaining and nurturing an active starter, initiate the process of crafting a beautiful artisan loaf, sample various delicious sourdough baked goods, and have your pressing sourdough inquiries addressed. As a participant, you'll depart with:
- An active starter and two dried starters.
- The foundation of an artisan loaf for fermentation and subsequent baking.
- Informative materials covering the fundamentals of sourdough, including a concise historical overview, health considerations, and a selection of my preferred recipes.
- Enhanced knowledge and confidence in your sourdough-making skills.
- The potential to forge new connections and share sourdough experiences with fellow enthusiasts.
All you need to bring is a bowl (with a lid if available), a digital kitchen scale, and optionally, an apron. We'll supply the necessary ingredients and utensils for your artisan loaf. Latex-free gloves will be provided as required.
There are only 36 available spots, so kindly RSVP by April 26th.
Furthermore, since this meeting coincides with lunchtime for many people, we'll be hosting a potluck! Please let us know what you'll be bringing.
Lauren is thrilled at the prospect of sharing a meal and delving into one of her favorite topics with you: sourdough! See you there!
